Three years after the Venom: Let There Be Carnage sequel, the Venom franchise finally ends with Venom: The Last Dance. Speaking at the film’s UK premier at BFI MAX in London, the English actor says it feels strange having to part ways with a character he thoroughly enjoys playing.

“ It’s like watching my son leave home, which I’m looking forward to, in some aspects,” he joked. “I don’t feel it is over since we are still here. I don’t think it will hit me until it’s quiet and I have a moment of reverie.

Tom Hardy is among the stars tipped to take over the iconic spy role from Daniel Craig- who hung up his tuxedo after the 2021 blockbuster ‘No Time To Dine’- and filmmaker Kelly Marcel suggested she was trying to hint at Tom being the perfect candidate for the job.

There is also the possibility of Kelly Marcel serving as a director of the next 007 flick. If she lands the gig, she will become the first female director of a Bond film. She admitted being ‘flabbergasted’ to be mentioned alongside Bart Layton, Edward Berger, Yann Demange, and David Michod.

“There’s never been a female Bond director, and of course, when you see something that, it’s just incredibly humbling. So I’m grateful to be mentioned alongside any of those brilliant, brilliant directors,” she said. Meanwhile, Kelly admitted she had no idea “what the future holds” for Venom after they completed the three films in their contract.

Following on from the events of the last two films, former journalist Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and his alien symbiote Venom are on the run. This time, it is not only federal agents who search for them. They are also being tracked by a team running a secret underground symbiote lab underneath Area 51, and a vast symbiote eater is sent to kill Venom to free his caged master.

Once again, Tom Hardy does a commendable job playing dual roles that converse with each other constantly. He reacts to his Venom voice and makes it appear natural and effortless. Venom fans will surely enjoy this piece since it is simply more of what came before and because it poignantly wraps up Eddie and Venom’s storyline.
