HBO Reveals Fate of The White Lotus After Season 3

HBO has officially announced a fourth season of The White Lotus before its third season premier on Sunday, February 16. Regarded as a dark comedy drama anthology, The White Lotus form Mike White follows the often troubled and privileged guests and the employees of the fictional White Lotus resort chain in a different location each season.

The widely popular TV show premiered on July 11, 2021, and have garnered an abundance of accolades including 15 Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globes. It had wins for best limited series and for Murray Bartlett and Jennifer Coolidge for best supporting actor and actress in a limited series. Mike White’s series received a total of 43 Emmy nominations across both seasons and have since won 15.

The White Lotus Seasons 4 will most likely not premier before 2027 due to its production timeline. Mike White, Mark Kamine, and David Bernad, who have led the show since its successful inception, executive produce the series.

The White Lotus, Season 2 set in Sicily move to the drama categories at the Emmys and earned another 23 nods, with Coolidge winning again, this time round for the best supporting actress in a drama series.

The upcoming third season of The White Lotus is set at an exclusive Thai resort and follows the exploits of different guests and employees over the span of a week. Leading the ensemble cast of The White Lotus Season 2 are Walton Goggins, Parker Posey and Carrie Coon. Natasha Rothwell will also reprise her Season 1 role as spa manager Belinda.

Even though details of the early renewal are under wraps, fans of the critically-acclaimed anthology series will have plenty of juicy storylines to obsess over when the social satire picks up in Thailand with Season Three. For example, the trailer teased Walton Goggins and Aimme Lou Wood playing a May-December couple whose island getaway takes a comically dangerous turn.

HBO also confirmed that The White Lotus will return with Season 4, but its production will not commence until 2026. No details have been confirmed yet regarding the setting or returning cast members, but last year, creator and showrunner Mike White shared multiple ideas with HBO and Max Chief Casey Bloys.
