Sophistication Meets Primal Energy at PFW 25

Milan’s Fondazione Prada became the epicenter of primal creativity this week, as Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons unveiled the House’s latest collection Unbroken Instincts. The Prada Fall Winter 25 menswear collection channeled the raw power of human nature, transforming unfiltered emotions and instinctive reactions into a masterclass in sophisticated designs.

The fervent lad had initially captivated the Italian city’s attention with its ‘Holy Motor’ presentation in June, at which 1,500 guest watched artists like Tonny Effe, Ghali, Tedua, and more perform alongside the imprint’s motorcross-inspired collection. In this regard, the latest show ate SuperStudio was more of a reminder that PDF’s grand statements are swiftly dominating the sartorial tongues of Milan’s edgier stylephiles.

Among a slew of notable guests, Prada Ambassadors Harris Dickinson, Damson Idris, Soohyun Kim, and Troye Sivan graced the front row. Designed by AMO, the set juxtaposed industrial starkness with inviting textures, embodying the collection’ contrasts. A towering raw metal framework intersected with plush carpets crafted by Catherine Martin, creating a dissonance that heightened sensory impact.

Blue, red, yellow lights altered the set before showgoers’ eyes with filmic intentions. To put it simple, Prada’s Fall/Winter 2025 runaway was one half chaotic Berlin nightclub and another half chic 20-th century ballroom. “An expression of instinct,” the two designers called it.

In terms of clothes, the Prada FW25 collection embraced the unrefined. It played on the tension between instinct and sophistication, bringing together unexpected elements: oversized coats with luxurious stolescontrasting bare torsos, while delicate floral brooches softened sharp blazers.

Playful trapper hats and bold purple trousers injected whimsy into refined silhouettes, and cowhide fur shirts peeked from beneath bomber jackets. Each look evoked the spontaneity of real-life dressing- flawed, experimental, and deeply personal. Thanks to its mix of textures, colors, and moods, the collection celebrated the primal yet romantic nature of fashion, underscoring its resistance to artificial conformity.

Overall, the collection highlighted the human element behind getting ready- the mismatched closet experimentation, the tardy outfits, the daring risks, the unpredictable outcomes when life just happens- in a bid against artificial intelligence, Prada explained backstage.

Going with the room’s roaring applause and the pipe structure’s subtle wobbles as the show concluded, Fondazione Prada might as well have become the best new club in Milan. You can have a glimpse at Prada’s Fall/Winter 2025 menswear collection in their gallery and check the glamouring outfits.
