Kerry Washington Goes Hot Pink For the Golden Globes Red Carpet

Kerry Washington has never disappointed her fans when it comes to looking glamorous for the red carpet. And she mostly stands out when she chooses to take a leap of faith and step out of her sartorial comfort zone for something way more daring or bold.

Well, this was highly evident at the 2025 Golden Globes, where the actress took inspiration from 2023’s Barbie and wore a dress that looked fit for the iconic idol. The Scandal actress looked pretty in pink in a dress from Balenciaga’s spring 2025, that consisted of a bright, nearly highlighter Barbie-inspired pink featuring ruching throughout the length of the dress, and extended into a carpet grazing train.

For the dress to appear more winter friendly, Kerry Washington chose to pair it with opera gloves in black spandex and black patent calfskin heels. Accessories, meanwhile, came in the form of oversized sparkling earrings and a teardrop shaped ring worn over her opera gloves.

She was styled by Rob Zangardi, who also works with Jennifer Lopez and Hailee Steinfeld. In 2024, Zangardi dresses Washington in designs by Oscar de la Renta, Prada, Tod’s Vivienne Westwood and Giambattista Valli.

Washington’s hair was styled by hairstylist Takisha Sturdivant Drew using all Pattern Beauty products.To complement the black tones in here outfit, Washington wore a black smokey eye with fluttering lashes, and let the eyeshadow look shine with a neutral lipstick.

 “The inspiration was modern sophistication with a sleek, glossy finish that perfectly complemented her vibrant hot pink Balenciaga dress. The aim was to achieve a ‘glass effect’ shine that exuded effortless elegance,” Drew said via a statement.

Kerry Washington made her first appearance on the Golden Globes red carpet in 2005, wearing a light blue Narciso Rodriguez dress. Since then, she has worn Altuzarra and Dolce & Gabbana to the awards ceremony. In 2014, she chose another look from Balenciaga to attend the Golden Globes, wearing a pale green celadon gown.

Even though Kerry Washington walked the red carpet alone, she wasn’t by herself for the evening. She and her husband Nnamdi Asomugha were spotted at the event together and had a glam date night.

To maintain their privacy, Asomugha also walked the red-carpet solo, but the pair was spotted at the event hugging and getting cuddly with each other before heading into the venue.
