British cosmetics and pharmaceutical retailer Boots has unveiled a new clothing collection for toddlers and young children in partnership with radio personality and singer Mollie King. Boots (which also has the UK license to sell Mothercare products) said the new range follows on from the scenes of its Maybe Baby range made available last year and now offers clothing for babies and young children (aged 18 months to 6 years).

For SS25, the duo added 60 new pieces to this line. Maybe Junior, on the other hand, features pieces for 18 months to six years-old, including looks that are aimed at being easy to match such as neutral ginghams, knitted co-ords and cargos.

The line is expected to launch into 410 stores across the UK in April, while in the same month the Maybe Baby SS25 collection is bound to become available in 230 stores and via Boots’ online website.

This partnership expansion between King and Boots comes on the back of a successful launch for the initial Maybe Baby line, which head of the bay category at Boots, John Carolan, said was ‘flying off the shelves.

With this, King, a mum of two, now takes up the new creative collaborator role for both Maybe Baby and Maybe Junior, following her creative and design input into the ranges, Boot said.

They said both collaborated collections draw on King’s experience of dressing her first daughter, “while combining her natural sense of style.” With the designs prioritizing ‘quality, comfort and practicality,’ the combined collections of 89 pieces are priced from £6, and are available exclusively at Boots.

John Carolan, head of category, Baby at Boots, said: “The highly anticipated Maybe Junior range… has helped us to create a fun, playful collection that will stand out in the market. The first drop was a great success with many items, including the best-selling printed Teddy Jacket, flying off the shelves so we are excited for the next stage in the Maybe Baby journey.”

The new partnership comes as good news to many considering the UK health and beauty retail giant Boots is looking to expand its childrenswear offer. With this new approach, they are certainly bound to leave tongues wagging with what they have to offer the market.
