Ariana Grande Takes Legal Action Over Alleged Leak of Unreleased Music

Ariana Grande has initiated a legal action against unknown hackers whom she implicates in orchestrating a multi-year plan of stealing and publicizing her unannounced music, personal pictures, and studio recordings. Submitted on Monday to Los Angeles Superior Court, the accusation only refers to the wrongdoers as John Does and desires to expose their names through the court procedure so they can be made responsible for.

It is alleged in the filing that the hackers targeted, multiple times, the digital accounts and devices of photographers and producers who have, in close collaboration, done a lot of work for Grande. One particular early case mentioned in the complaint is when the photographer’s Dropbox credentials were obtained in 2019 granting access to unreleased photographs. Later breaches, as per the suit, are claimed to have been when a producer’s mobile device was hacked, to get the masters demos recording-session footage, and a 2024 phishing operation in which hackers impersonating a photographer, tricked a digital technician into releasing materials via fake email account and domain. The lawsuit says that in the year 2023 alone, 45 of Grande’s unshared songs were lost and revealed.

Ariana’s representatives are contending that such a violation amounts to a “malign invasion” of privacy that results in a very great and unavoidable damage to her musical profession and intimate life. The pleading is that the public sharing of a private material is a breach of identity and artistry, aside from the loss of the “sacred bond” Grande enjoys with her fans. She has made claims of invasion of privacy, California computer-hacking code violations, conversion, and has requested a jury. A representative of Ms. Grande, speaking to the papers, mentioned that the case aims, on one hand, at protecting the singer, on the other, discouraging similar incidents to hurt other artists.

Grande had openly spoken a couple of times about the anguish of having her unfinished works leaked. In an earlier interview, she admitted that it would be great to have the guys in jail.

At the moment, the legal dispute is at a stage where hardly anything is established yet, besides that the defendants’ real names haven’t been given out and the law is yet to start working.
