Jennifer Lopez has been through a lot of heartache. The actress and singer have been married four times and is heading towards her fourth divorce. Despite her ups and downs in the romantic department, the On The Floor star doesn’t regret the pain of her separation from Ben Affleck. The split taught her some precious lessons about herself and love.
During a recent interview with Nikki Glaser for Interview magazine, JLo opened up about her two-year marriage to Affleck. She also addressed some of the revelations in her new documentary, Atlas. Specifically, she discussed how being open about her relationship was one of the things that led to its end.
She explained that she had to learn to be more private and that her separation from Affleck helped her understand the importance of protecting her personal life. During her interview, she didn’t get too into the details of their relationship or how it ended, but she explained that protecting her own life was essential. She also admitted that it was difficult to go public with some of the things in the documentary.
JLo went on to say that the pain of her separation from Affleck was so severe that she thought it would take her out for good. She said that she was almost “dead inside.” However, she quickly said that the experience was exactly what she needed to grow and learn the importance of privacy.
She continued to say that she now realizes how much power the media has and how much it can hurt. She went on to say that she feels like she is a different person than when she started the business because of her experiences with the press. She says she is a “stronger, more confident woman” because of her experiences with the media.
In addition to being a renowned entertainer, JLo is a multihyphenate who has appeared on several television shows, launched a skincare line, and even hosted a talk show. She has also performed at a Super Bowl and presidential inauguration, won acting awards for her role in Hustlers, and had Vegas residencies and world tours. As such, she is well-versed in the art of multitasking and has no problem switching between roles.
The interviewer then asked her if she regretted any of the experiences that have brought her to where she is today. She replied, No, I don’t.? Then she added, That doesn’t mean that they didn’t almost take me out for good. They did. But now, on the other side of it, I think f***k that was precisely what I needed.? Thank you, God. I’m sorry it took me so long to figure that out.? She then closed the interview with a smile.
