Healing old wounds is never easy. Helping people recover from deep emotional pain is even harder. But there is someone who has been doing it incredibly for a long time.
Riana Milne has been guiding individuals and couples from fear and heartbreak to purpose and love for over 26 years. Today, that influence has grown far beyond the walls of a counseling office. She has formed a global coaching brand that’s transforming how the world understands and heals both childhood and love relationship trauma.
Riana Milne, LMHC, CCTP-II, CAP, is a Certified Life, Love Trauma Recovery & Mindset Coach and #1 bestselling author who has spent decades helping people “Create the Life they Desire & Have the Love they Deserve.”
From telehealth counseling done in Florida to coaching clients on every continent, Riana’s work shows how education, science, caring, compassion, and purpose can change lives.
Riana’s story began long before she became a well-known trauma recovery expert. At 37, she returned to college, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a master’s in Applied Clinical and Counseling Psychology. Her work as a licensed mental health counselor started in the year 2000 and exposed her to trauma in many forms, from children in crisis to adults grappling with toxic, abusive relationships.
Her own experiences with emotional abuse and loss gave her a bigger purpose. Unable to find answers in existing psychology research, she began studying the science of childhood trauma herself. What she uncovered changed her entire career.
In 2011, she discovered that up to 90% of adults carry unhealed, unconscious childhood and love trauma, affecting their relationships, self-worth, and overall life success.
She realized, as she says, “You can’t change what you don’t know or understand.”
She designed tools like the Childhood Trauma Checklist to help people identify and address their emotional wounds. That assessment is now used globally.
Armed with this knowledge, Riana expanded beyond traditional therapy. In 2017, she shifted from private counseling to global coaching. Through Lessons in Life & Love Coaching LLC and Therapy by the Sea LLC, she created programs that combine psychology, neuroscience, mindfulness, and mindset work. All of them aim to achieve thorough and lasting personal transformation.
Riana has a research-based approach. Her trademarked Life & Love Transformation Coaching System helps clients heal their mind, body, and spirit.
Her coaching covers three main areas:
Singles Coaching: Helps individuals heal past trauma, attract emotionally healthy partners, and build fulfilling relationships.
Couples Coaching: Transforms relationships “from toxic to terrific” through new communication tools and emotional awareness.
Life Transition & Trauma Recovery: Supports people in overcoming anxiety, negative thinking, and self-sabotage linked to unresolved childhood events.
Her clients range from teens to seniors, and her inclusive approach supports both women and men, singles and couples, straight and LGBTQ+ individuals. Through online sessions and her Life & Love Training Academy, Riana offers personalized, VIP-level support that fits busy lives.
Her signature “Mindset for Success” system, which she’s taught for over 40 years, helps clients replace fear and doubt with confidence and purpose. By shifting unconscious patterns, they stop repeating dysfunctional behavioral patterns that no longer serve them, including toxic relationship cycles, and finally move toward emotionally healthy, conscious love.
Riana’s mission, as she states, is to “help change the way the world loves.” She does this through her books, podcasts, speaking events, and media appearances that bring trauma recovery education to millions.
